Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, is without a doubt, the state's most beautiful and most undisturbed region. Coined 51 years ago, the area comprised of Caledonia, Essex and Orleans counties-received its nickname in honor of its sheer unparalleled splendor. A beloved former governor and U.S. senator proclaimed this area so spectacular that it should be a kingdom, the Northeast Kingdom.

Take Interstate 91 South to Exit 18 West, which is right, onto Barnet- West Barnet Road. Then follow directions below. |
- Stay on paved road, 5 miles, into the small village of West Barnet.
As you approach the village, a campground sign and Aunt Dee's, a general store, on your left. - This is your signal to slow down for the upcoming sharp left hand turn over a little bridge next to the white church.
- Go over the bridge and immediately in front of you will be an orange Dead End sign, a campground sign and a Camper Lane sign (our road).
This is a dirt road that will bring you to our big gray house, also our office, 4th house on the right. A rope across the campground entrance will show you that you have arrived!
The closest international airport is in Burlington, Vt. (about 1 hour. 15 minutes), It's a small airport, but serves many airlines. The next closest and a fabulous ride up through the White Mountains of NH. is Manchester, NH. It serves all of the airlines and is near Boston's major hub. (about 1 hour, 45 minutes away). The Kingdom also has three smaller, light plane airports located in Island Pond, Lyndonville and Newport.
Do NOT follow MAPQUEST! Their listing is wrong, and until further notice they will have you driving around in circles and get you lost. Also, the local road crew thinks it more important to make sure the street signs are readable, not necessarily always pointing the correct direction. Drivers beware...
Vermont's Northeast Kingdom is closer than you think!
